BTCV Enterprises has helped 7,500 people
Marlon came to the BTCV Enterprises programme in April 2007. He had been unemployed for over a year and was feeling very negative and starting to show signs of depression.
We sorted Marlon out with a work placement at Vitality Health and Fitness Studio as a gym assistant. This really helped to boost his confidence and as a result, he was successful in an interview with a local leisure centre for the position of leisure assistant.
Whilst waiting for his CRB check and continuing to work closely with his BTCV Enterprises Recruitment Advisor, discussions resulted in gaining an interview with British Gas and he was successful in getting a job as Customer Service Advisor. He is due to finish his training September 2007, and is thought very highly of by Claire, the Recruitment Manager for British Gas. Marlon intends to follow his health and fitness aspirations on a part-time basis.
In his final review with BTCV, Marlon said, "I think my Recruitment Advisor has been a very big help in getting me back to work and also with other problems that I have had. It was nice to have him as my mentor.”
